I'm so glad to be here. I felt that your phrasing(especially sweeping) reminds me of the early works of Richie Kotzen. I see you are a guitar instructor at MI, and I wish I could go there in the near future. On the other hand, I heard there are so many students from Japan, and they tend to stay together within themselves and make less communication with others. Hey man, great playing! The Greg Howe and Frank Gambale influences are really cool. I guess since you went to GIT you probably took some classes with Mr. Gambale. I noticed most of your detractors have the same web tv address, cannot be coincidence! Your page is terriffic! Keep up the great work! Re:your creativity_The 1st cut on your CD has a most unique rhythm to the melody (very catchy) anyone thinking this isn't new or unprecidented in shred should open their mind first & listen again! And thats only the beginning. Yeah your chops are awsome, but that's just the beginning, your creativity is too, too bad for those young players that don't really have the overview & years on their axe to appreciate this! I would encourage anyone interested to get the CD because the clips are short and do not begin to tell the whole story! I decided to sign again after reading the 'not so nice' book. Re:creativity these people should have their ears examined_ the first cut has such an awsome rythm to the melody, this is real creativity, not just hot chops and not wanting to review the whole thing here, let me say it bears a second listen for these people with an open mind! Hey... I just wanted to say that all of the people who call you tasteless and uncreative are full of shit (let alone have really bad grammar)! If someone is going to judge your creativity with the scales and sweeps that you present as EXERCISES, then they 1. probably can't play them 2. are as educated as you are sloppy. Keep up the good work. I'd like to see other lessons... Maybe on something that most guitar players need work on... strengthening fingers... I hate seeing fingers fly away from the guitar after a note is fretted... it would increase speed if the fingers were stronger.

Great presentation on the lessons! What software was used to export and load the notation and tab? Wonderful to see both so nicely done (rather than ascii tab). Good ideas! Plan to play with some of them tonight. Chris is the guitarist's mad scientist! In reference to the "Not so Nice" page...I find it interesting (and sad) that people actually find the need to go out of their way expending energy telling someone how much they dislike another's art. Rule of marketing: Can't/won't please 100% of the people 100% of the time...so don't worry about it. In other words, to each his own. Do what you like and don't worry about those who "don't understand it." Shred's not dead, it just moved to a new neighborhood (online and overseas) and didn't send a forwarding address to the US mainstream. The pendulum is swinging again...while in music stores I have seen/heard enough young players really exploring the blues and the new possibilities within the 7-string realm...chops and theory and the guitar hero will find the US mainstream soon..

I was looking on the Ametuer shred guitarists Page and I saw an asian guy but " A Cool good lookin asian guy ! " So I just had to investigate I read your Biography and stuff and found it incredibly intreasting :) But then i checked out the sounds and Woah man u blew me away ! People say yer stuff is too samey on the nasty message board but I feel this is because they arent listning colosely enough..My favourtie song has got to be arachnophobia I wish to god i could play like that .. ive been listning to vai and satriani way too long and im only recently discovering amaetur players like Buckethead marc pattiman and yourself... which top the big 3 (vai,satch and gilbert ) easily.. i wish i was rich and could give u a record deal because i feel a lot more peopel should hear your stuff.. another suggestion is to move this site onto a Xoom.com website.. its pritty easy to sign up there .. that way u can have unlimited webspace unlike aol and have better sound quality on the real audio files. Also I play guitar Bass and drums and was wondering if on your next tips thign if you could do some tips on soloing over chord progressions as i find this is my main problem when to change key when soloing... another Song of yours I really liek is the " Space Thriller ! " The Scales u r using in that totally kick ass.. Also dont listen to the crap about u shouldne be using a drum machine.. Nowadays U SHOULD be using a drum machine ! u can get alot more diffrent and cool futuristic sounds using a drum machine.. and specially for instrumental guitar u have to concentrate on makin the songs diffrent and if u use a real drummer u will end up sounding liek van halen or vai or satch.. so KEEP USING THE DRUM MACHINE !! :) Its what all the " in " instrumental guitarists are starting to do or use a Dj ( buckethead is a good example ) Emreald brook is a totally great song.. so much feeling That totally proves everyone wrong that u have no feelign i would kill to be able to write a song liek that. Can i have a signed photo of you ? i would like to get one personally and meet you and all but you live in beverly hills and im all the way over in London .. bummer :/ few suggestions is use more synth sound sliek strings and stuff.. i havent heard any fast instrmental songs with classical instruments next to them for along time i think it would be very diffrent and would gain you notability. The crossing was a good attempt although it sounded a lot like a pantera Song i heard once called " the floods" check it out and u'll see what i mean. I really would like to buy your cd although im only 16 and dont have a credit card to buy it from amil order and if i wanted to get it from a music shop in england they would have to order it cause you are independent and american and would have to use a card :/...
